Many of you have heard that this is the last year for the Youth Sing Praise program at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. We are a group of friends and alumni of the program: people who have been participants, staff, youth ministers, helper’s team, etc., who are trying to help raise money to keep this program around for another 28 years!
Please keep checking back for ways that you can help. Currently we are organizing an Alumni/Friends Board to connect past participants and their gifts with the participants of tomorrow.
A statement from the Shrine and the Oblates:
For nearly three decades, Youth Sing Praise has changed the lives of countless people. The vocally and theatrically-talented teens who attend each summer from all over the country are affirmed in their gifts and empowered to share them with the world. After eight days of prayer, fellowship, and long rehearsals, the teens perform a faith-based musical for an audience of thousands. More than enjoyable, the performance is unmistakably special, like the program itself. Time and again, the community has responded with enthusiasm, offering encouragement through their presence and openness, and in heart-felt thanks for the gift of these young people.
In order for YSP to continue its mission for years to come, we rely more than ever on God’s providence and on the generosity of the community. The Oblates of Mary Immaculate and their staff are committed to St Eugene de Mazenod’s mission of helping youth to “know who you are in the eyes of God.” Without judgment, without exclusion, abundant in compassion and hope, Youth Sing Praise embodies that mission.
